Toyota Butuan City (TBT)
The year 2013 has been a remarkable year for Toyota Cagayan de Oro, Inc (TCO). After 16 years of serving its Northern Mindanao clientele, Toyota Cagayan de Oro prioritized opening its first branch at the Caraga Region – Toyota Butuan City (TBT). On September 7, 2013, the TCO community celebrated profusely its inauguration wanting the world to know of it’s first-born. Indeed, it was a moment of pride and honor!!
Team Balangay
The BALANGAY is Butuan’s iconic symbol. The Balangay, the historic Butuan Boat is a plank boat adjoined by a carved out wood plank edged through pins and dowels. This wooden watercraft is only found in the Philippines where a flotilla of such prehistoric wooden boats exists. Nine balangay specimens were excavated in 1976 in Butuan; the first dating as far back as year 320 is now preserved and displayed in a site museum in barangay Liberted where Toyota Butuan City stands. In fact, one of the nine balangay relics is found within the 2.4 hectares property of Toyota Butuan City. TBT boasts of being the largest dealership in area in Mindanao until 2018 when it’s mother company, Toyota Cagayan de Oro transferred to its new location.
Building a balangay requires teamwork and unity among workers which is why it is used to refer to the smallest political unit popularly called “barangay”. This same teamwork and unity required in building a balangay is Toyota Butuan City’s commitment to its customers. True to this commitment, after only a year in operation, Toyota Butuan City was awarded Dealer of the Year – Ist Runner Up, several awards followed to date.
As Toyota Butuan City sets its roots in the Home of the Balangays, it’s state of the art facilities as well as its customer-centered people is something that every Butuanons can be proud of.
