Job Summary:
The Pollution Control Officer (PCO) is responsible for ensuring that the dealership complies with all environmental laws and regulations. The PCO will oversee the implementation of environmental management systems, coordinate pollution prevention measures, and maintain environmental standards within the organization. This role requires a proactive approach to sustainability, legal compliance, and environmental preservation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the dealership complies with all local and national environmental laws and regulations.
- Monitor and manage environmental permits, including renewals and updates as regulatory agencies require.
- Prepare and submit necessary reports to the Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) and other relevant authorities.
- Develop and implement pollution control programs to minimize the dealership’s environmental impact.
- Oversee waste management practices, including the proper segregation, storage, disposal, and recycling of waste materials.
- Conduct regular inspections and monitoring to ensure pollution prevention measures are effectively implemented.
- Establish and maintain an environmental management system (EMS) for the dealership.
- Guide employees on environmental policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Conduct training programs and awareness campaigns to promote environmental responsibility among employees.
- Respond promptly to environmental incidents or emergencies, investigating their causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Ensure the proper reporting and documentation of environmental incidents to relevant authorities.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the dealership and environmental regulatory agencies.
- Coordinate inspections and audits conducted by government agencies to ensure compliance.
- Address any findings or recommendations from environmental audits.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date environmental compliance records, including permits, reports, and inspections.
- Prepare and submit regular compliance reports to management and regulatory bodies.
- Keep track of environmental performance indicators and suggest improvements as needed.
- Identify opportunities to improve environmental performance and reduce the dealership’s ecological footprint.
- Recommend and implement innovative solutions for energy efficiency, waste reduction, and pollution prevention.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Preferably a graduate of Environmental Science or a related field.
- PCO experience is an advantage.
- Knowledgeable in environmental laws and regulations.
- Flexible, hardworking, and capable of handling multiple responsibilities effectively.
